Where I went #

This is not on the beaten path (let alone the map), but well worth it if you are in the area.

‘Home’ (this was the only recognisable sign I recall, and their café does not appear on any map) was an emergency stop for a very much needed lunch. Having skipped breakfast, as soon as I saw this fancy café while riding through Beung Khlong, I did a U-turn and returned to check it out.

On the main street through town, this modern industrial café stands out to the older buildings nearby. They offer a super simple menu of half a dozen items. Many are a fusion of Vietnamese dishes with Thai flavours.

What I liked #

  • Stylish café, standing out from its neighbours
  • Limited menu, but all items would appeal to any appetite (and taste spectacular!)
  • Super friendly staff (even letting me borrow their phone charger while I was there)

What I ate #

I literally ordered half the menu. I started with ‘panned eggs’… I am not sure what the formal name of this dish is, but I have seen it in a few places in this region. Take an already great breaky component, runny fried eggs, and add super soft Vietnamese bread with some sweet meats. Guaranteed tasty!

Also pictured, was a Vietnamese style role, with Thai flavoured fillings. It looks simple, but this was the star of the meal. Incredible flavours trapped within a super sticky wrap. Would highly recommend trying this with the spicy dip provided.

Finally, and not pictured, was a small Vietnamese steamed bread roll, filled with more sweet meat. Again, a slight change to the regular option in the region, with the super soft bread being the star of the show.

While the café only serves free water to drink, there is a small drinks stand directly across the road, and they are more than happy to serve you one of their many drinks while you sit at the café. I, of course, opted for a Thai ice tea and thoroughly enjoyed this too!

The three dishes came to about 100 baht, and it was an extra 25 baht for the Thai ice tea from across the road
